If you look inside the case and look at the powersupply do you see a bunch of numbers and letters on it. Like 12v or something? Because if you have a decent power supply you can save the money and get a better gpu but if not i would invest in a better power supply so you dont fry your whole system.

No, not instantly, but in the long run it will probably slowly start degrading, artifacts on the screen, lower performance/fps, random shutoffs. due to lack of power to the video card.

Sorry to dampen your post but the power supply is an older design-the 5 and 3.3 volt outputs are quite high and the 12 volt output low for a 550 Watt unit.
Compare them with these numbers and you'll see what I mean: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
Also, I suspect it will not have the dual PCI-E leads needed to run a GTX760 or R9 270/280 (The 280 needs 1x6 and 1x8 pin leads).
I think your best option would be to look for a R9 270 and add a decent PSU, 550-600 Watts with the required dual PCI-E leads will be enough.
A card: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_i...
A power supply: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_i...
A power supply with more class: http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_i...

EDIT: I'm a slow typer.
Do you live in OZ, mate?

Nice.
I'm in cold, damp, wintery England.
How I envy you!
Don't expect a R9 270 to run BF4 at ultra and 60FPS, high will be smooth enough though and your CPU is also decent, so no problems with any bottlenecking there.
If you want to look for a bit more performance or are considering a move to the green team here's how the cards stack up against each other:
http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/gaming-graphics-card-revi...
Usual rules of online shopping apply: Shop around, check you local stores (they can surprise you) and, in this case, don't ignore the 'old' stock, most of the "R" cards are rebranded 7XXX units and the GTX7xx series are similarly rebrands of the GTX6xx cards.
And do your system a favour: Change that power supply!

It's the weakest card suggested but a decent performer-the OC will push it up closer to a stock R9 270 but it's still slower.
These guys compare a lot of cards during each review, you should find this helpful: http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/amd_radeon_r9_270_...
AFAIK, the cards in the comparison section are all stock items, but bear in mind, you can always overclock a card yourself.

Would prefer the Corsair, it's not top of the line true, but it's still a good, solid unit-and cheaper than the Coolermaster.
I'll always try to stick to a given budget when advising because it's all too easy to spend some one else's money and the GTX760 pushes you over that $350 limit.
But it is a sweet card, and a good match for the rest of your system so if you can extend the budget it'll be a better long term purchase.
If you' like to spend a little more on the wife/kids/girlfriend/boyfriend/pets/self this Christmas the R9 270 is still a big upgrade from the existing HD7750 and less expensive.
So Neo, do you take the Green pill, or the Red? (GTX760 or R9 270).
