Hi there , i'm new to pc hardware , hope that my problem could be solved , sorry for any silly mistakes i made . Besides , thanks in advance for the guidance and suggestions. :D

i'm wondering that , will a pc with good processor and an average gpu outperform a pc with average processor and a good gpu (in terms of gaming) ? For and instance , will an i5 3330 with a Radeon HD7950 beat an i7 4700 with a Radeon HD7870 ? in gaming aspect mostly . i knew that some games are gpu-intensive , and some are cpu-intensive . In you guys' opinions , which is the most suitable build for gaming , whereas for current-gen games or next-gen games .
PS# sorry if i had made any silly mistakes with my grammar , pardon me , english isn't my mother tongue .

well, if you were to get the i5, i'd try to get a better gpu. the 7950 is better than the 7870, but not by a ton, wheras the 4700 will destroy the 3330.. if you were to get the 3570 (with or without the K) it would make more sense to get the 7950.

With that being said, I'd personally go for the i7 combo. your gpu will still be great for 2 more years and your processor will be strong enough to last for about 6 or 7 (at least) I'd say.

currently for gaming, the i5 combo is better, but for future upgradability, the i7 combo is better..

.. probably just get the i5 option though.

first, i5 is not an average CPU, is very powerful for everyday tasks to High end gaming.
it is better to get an i5 3330 with a 7950, because the games are taxing the GPU way more than the CPU. that means, that if you would upgrade your CPU from i5 3330 to i7 and you would use 7870, you would "see" only a few FPS difference ( it cannot be seen), while if you would use i5 with a 7950, you would get noticeable, 10+ FPS.
So get i5 and 7950 :)
