PC info:
Processor: i7-3820
Memory: 16GB
GFX: nvidia GeForce GTX 660 Ti
OPS: Windows 7 64bit

I have this problem for a while, it starts to shut down and stays on "shutting down...". Afther 15 minute I just push the button down, if he didn't crash and restarted yet.

So I've been finding many sollutions, such as:

Reset CMOS: tried, didn't work

Shut down in safe mode works. But why? :p

If it's a program or virus that keeps it to shut down, then i wonder wich one.
I've have made many virus scans with different scanners. Didn't help. I've restarted with no programs or service on. (MsConfig). Didn't help.
The problem is when an update or installation requires a restart, it never really restart so it the update doesn't work.

If anyone else has an idea. I'm open to it.

For the moment i'll keep my pc on day and night :D

Thanks,

Solution
I've found the solution to my problem. Apparently there was a driver bug or something holding my pc to shut down.

So I runned a software to update all my drivers and it works fine again.

I want to thank you all for helping me.

BTW i can't pick this as a sollution...

Program:
Wise registry cleaner: found alot but didn't help my problem.
Adwcleaner: didn't help
Spybot: didn't help
AVG: didn't help (i used to use avast, so i wanned to give an other program the test)
hitman pro: didn't help.

did you run them in safe mode? and did you launch all applications by right clicking and running as administrator (EVEN if you are admin)

Hi,

Thank you for replying.

I haven't got the time yet to try it in safe mode with networking but i've noticed something.
When I restart in safe mode with networking it doesn't shut down eather. It only works in safe mode.

I will continue to try in safe mode with networking, hoping it might change something.

I was wondering if it could be a driver that doesn't want to shut down.

Thanks again for the help.
