ASRock 970 Extreme3
AMD FX-6300 3.5GHz
Kingston HyperX Blu 2×4GB DDR3 1600MHz
XXX Radeon R9 290 4GB GDDR5 (I'll buy it when it comes with an aftermarker cooler)
Sharkoon REX8 Economy Edition
Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB
The whole system costs $613,05, including the PSU, is XFX Core Edition PRO550W enough? My main use is Battlefield 4, Counter-Strike: Source gaming.

Solution
I'd recommend getting at least the XFX 650W PSU, here is a chart showing suggested PSU size based on type and amount of GPUs:

There is also a PSU calculator on the page as well. Also, if you will be overclocking the cpu or gpu you might want something larger than 650 watts, but stay with quality PSU manufacturers such as Seasoni, XFX, Corsair (except the CX series) or Antec.
