I am trying to zip some folders with large amounts of files in them and verifying them afterwards by unzipping them and comparing the size and file count with the source folder. Each and every time I have done this the unzipped folders has reported a drastically different file count and slightly different size count using "Get Info" in OSX. I am using Keka 1.0.4 (740) to zip them which I understand is built on the 7zip foundation. I tried zipping to a .zip file as well as a .7z file and both produce similar results.

Is Get Info extremely unreliable? Am I using a crappy zip software? Am I just doing everything wrong?

Please help me out here! Thanks!

You don't need third-party programs. Just right-click on the folder and select "Compress <folder name>".
