R9 270x showing up as "Microsoft Display Adapter"

Hello

I just upgraded my video card from a Radeon 7750 to a R9 270X.

For some reason it is not working, and under Display Adapters, it is showing up as Microsoft Basic Display Adapter.

I have installed drivers already, so I am not sure what is going on!

I've tried everything at this point. No idea what else I can do.

try re-seat your gpu. and then make sure all the pci-e power connector are properly inserted to the card. also your full system spec

Upgrading to Windows 8.1 seemed to do the trick. PC recognizes the card now!

well that's weird. i haven't use radeon for a long time so i don't know if AMD make separate download for each version of windows for their drivers
