My 3 year old PC had it's Mobo (Asus P8P67 Pro) die on me. I considered a full PC upgrade, but it seems like my main components are still pretty decent for being 3 full years old. I want to upgrade to a good quality motherboard with one of the new Ivy Bridge chipsets, but don't want to overspend since I'll probably do a complete upgrade in 18 months or so. Here's my current setup I need to be compatible...

Intel i5-2500K
XFX Radeon HD 6950 2GB
G.Skill 2x4GB 240-Pin DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800)

Main questions are...

1) Am I right in assuming these components are decent for another 18 months til I can do a major upgrade, would add'l memory or a memory upgrade be necessary?
2) Which Chipset or specific motherboard would be the best fit for these components that allows simple overclocking without spending money on things I don't need?
3) Side question I broke my CPU cooler while removing the motherboard, what would allow good solid overclocking without being too big or expensive? I had a Scythe SCMG-2100 before and it was a little too large, bent the heatsink on the memory and took up nearly the entire case it seemed like.
