i have a project of establishing a network connection of 25 computers in a computer lab with limited resources,
i have few questions answer them...

what are the devices required for this network.. ?
what type of topology is best...?
what type of network...?
which one is best... client-server or peer to peer...?
what it should be... central or collaborative...?
requirement for security...?
which operating system is required...?
how to establish a local email server...?

Solution
You say limited resources but don't really tell us what they are.

I would go Server Based for the Network as from the top of my head I'm sure for a peer to peer you really want less than 20 workstations on the network, this will keep the data centralised and easy to back up and maintain.

For topology Star is the most used and prob is the best on offer.

Operating System you can use Windows and the server version can be used for an Email Server, use Linux but depends if you can use it.

for Security you are looking at things like Firewall(get a hardware firewall not software) Active Directory is classed as security, a good Anti-Virus and you also have other Security like physical access to your server(keep it in a locked room) and...

For hardware to set-up a star with a server you will be looking at a Router and Server to start with, depending how many networks you wish to create then you need enough switches, if you breaking the network into 2 that will be 2 switches, if you want wireless and a firewall you can get it through the router or you may wish to use a separate firewall for that and an access point on the network for wireless.

theres a lot more to it but I hope I have gave you a bit of a start.

To be honest, some of your questions are generic and many of them are more specific to how you plan to use the computers. Your questions kind of sound like this.

"Hi, I got a new job and need to use a vehicle at work. Should I get a car or a truck? What kind of hauling capacity should I have? Should I get a diesel or a gasoline engine?"

Kind of nebulous questions and the best answers we can give is "Depends". Some of your questions, like "network topology" is quite strait forward. Star networks are almost used exclusively. With 25 computers, it's easy to get a single switch to handle all. If you had much more, you'd probably have a star of stars

For many of your questions there is no "best". The solutions all have pros and cons and you need to decide if the benefits are worth the costs or risks. You will get a different answer depending on what you're trying to do.
