Random Internet disconnects.

My internet will randomly disconnect from the internet for a period of maybe 5 seconds. it will then reconnect fine and act as if nothing happened.

did you try contacting Comcast tech support? they can see the connection going to your house, see if the problem is out of your control, or it might be as simple a fix as a DNS change, or modem switch, or changing the cables out for new ones (if they are old and bent etc). also more importantly ,have you isolated if its the modem or the router? Disconnect the router and only use the modem--->PC and see if you still get disconnects.
