Realtek HD Audio

I am trying to connect my computer to my stereo so I can play music over my external speakers. I am outputting from the computer with the following setup. Out from the computer with micro cord plugged into green outlet to a RCA splitter and then the RCA cables to my receiver. I get lond sound from my left front speaker but much less sound from the other four speakers. My realtek sound card came with the computer but I have downloaded latest drivers. What am I doing wrong? Is there a solution? Any help greatly appreciated.

2.1 Speakers or 5.1 Speakers???

Did u check the 5.1 speakers in "Realtek audio Control Panel"
to enable 5.1 speakers.....u should check tat....in audio settings

In the Control Panel for Sound there is no option for 2.1 or 5.1. It simply lists info for jack. In the Audio Manager, I have selected both 2.1 and 5.1. In both instances when I run the t sound test, I get sound from the left speaker only..
Thanks for your response. Is it possible that I'm not going to be able to hook up my computer sound through the receiver with this sound card. Is there and alternative to accomplish what I want.

Did u see the "Speaker Configuration" and u see a drop box menu...

in tat select 5.1 speaker

Can you try a set of 2.1 computer speakers plugged directly into the green jack?

Also, how are you getting 5.1 while only plugged into the green jack? I thought that was 2.1 only.

I did find the speaker configuration and set it to 2.1. I still get sound from the left front only. At one time, I had computer speakers hooked up and they worked. The audio manager indicates that its outputting analog signal. Could that be the problem.
I'm sure by now you've realized that your're dealing with a 78 year old with limited technical knowledge. I do appreciate your efforts to help.

If the computer speakers worked but your current set-up doesn't, I would try another splitter/RCA adapter to see if that is the problem.

Also, do you have the rear speakers plugged into the rear speaker jacks?

did u connect both the right & left jack to the audio panel?

He mentioned that he connected to the "green" jack which contains both left and right channels in a single plug.

No. There is only one output--3.5 mini jack. I connected a mini cable to the output jack on the computer and used a splitter which has RCA red and white. I thought that those were the right and left jacks but now think I'm only outpuutting single sound channel (left) from the computer.
