I'm building my first computer and have encountered an extremely frustrating problem. After installing everything, I receive a BSOD after about 5 minutes with my GPU installed. I began testing things and removed my GPU, and was able to install windows on the computer without trouble. I then tried switching out power supplies, but the problem persisted. I had a friend test the GPU on his computer and it worked fine. Lastly, I tried removing everything from the case and booting again, and the problem persisted. At this point I suspect it is either a motherboard or CPU issue, but as I'm an amateur, I really am at a loss on how to test for which is the problem.

My specs:
CPU: Intel Core i5-3570K 3.4GHz Quad-Core Processor
Heatsink: Arctic Cooling UCACO-AP11301-BUA01 Fluid Dynamic Bearing CPU Cooler
Mobo: ASRock B75M-DGS R2.0 Micro ATX LGA1155 Motherboard
GPU:MSI Radeon HD 7870 GHz Edition 2GB Video Card
Memory: Crucial Ballistix Sport 8GB (1 x 8GB) DDR3-1600 Memory
HD: Samsung 840 EVO 120GB 2.5" Solid State Disk
PSU: I was using a Coolmax 700W but switched to a Corsair CX600

Solution
I'd say that it is worth trying it. The BIOS chip on ASrock boards is on socket and easy to replace, in case something wrong happens during the flashing process.

I haven't done so because I was afraid of messing something up. However, the current BIOS is from July 2013, and the newest is dated October 2013. I was originally skeptical that a difference of three months would be the cause of the problem.
