Hey everyone, I've had my computer for a while now, and it's been working pretty well. Tonight I added another hard drive and optical drive from a friends PC. Please note that my friends PC's power supply shorted and essentially blew up, hence I was able to get the components. I plugged them into my PC and tried the power, it turned on and then turned off immediately. I removed the new components and the PC did the same. I've scoured many forums for answers, and I can safely say I have whittled it down to 3 things. Mobo, CPU, RAM.

I tried running the PC when no RAM was installed and there was no response whatsoever, however when I put a new stick of RAM in (one that wasn't in when it started doing this) and it just did the same, turned on and turned off again.

What might be causing this? More importantly, what am I going to have to replace? :(

The PSU is functional, and I have also tried another power supply with the same results. I have only been powering the mono and nothing else, it was just the mono, CPU and ram. None of my other Components are causing the problem as far as I can see

I can assure you everything that is supposed to power the board and CPU is plugged in. So yes the 24-pin mobo and 4-pin CPU is connected. Like i said originally it won't turn on at all with no ram, and turns on then off with any ram.

Afraid not, it came with my Acer m3910 and I haven't had it changed since. Does this soundlike a motherboard problem to you? As I dont want to shell out for the wrong thing!
