Can I upgrade Dell 660 i5-3330 to i7-3770

Can I upgrade Dell 660 i5-3330 to i7-3770? I asked Dell Techs, they say Dell 660 support i7s, but not tested, would not recommend upgrading.

Do I just replace the CPU, anything else I need to do/adjust.

    Thx
  3. heyy, do you really need to replace the cpu?? the one you currently have is actually pretty good
  4. According to http://www.cpubenchmark.net/cpu.php?cpu=Intel+Core+i7-3770+%40+3.40GHz&id=896, i7-3770 is about 55% faster than i5-3330, and i7-4770 is only about 8% faster than i7-3770 but in different socket, so I guess it would be worthwhile to upgrade to i7-3770

Hello jzli1998... I am looking to do the same thing ~ did you pull-the-trigger?
If so, how did it all work out and did you run any tests to see what performance gain you achieved by the upgrade?

Look forward to any comments you may have.
