Hello people from Tom's Hardware... i have created an account just to ask your help...
First off, i will like to say that i recently bought Battlefield 3 and i'm getting horrible FPS on any map and any quality setting.

CPU:
Quad Core i3 2.3Ghz, 1.5GB RAM

GPU: Nvidia GeForce 520Mx

I am getting about 20-25 FPS on any map, and every quality setting (20 - 25 FPS on both Low and Ultra)
I have added Battlefield 3 in my "Nvidia Control Panel" and set pre-rendered frames to 1, disabled everything that was not needed and put everything to High Performance.
I can run all brand new games with ease, but not Battlefield 3....
Thanks in advance, Maxwell

The 520mx is a low end laptop gpu. I would expect it to play bf3 at any decent fps

My work laptop has an older i5 with a little bit more powerful gpu than yours and i get the same fps. Its basically unplayable.

Well, i can run other games just fine. Like Assassin's Creed 3 with about 40 FPS, i have played Battlefield Bad Company 2 with about 30-50 FPS at all times, and as i stated before the quality really doesn't change my FPS... there must be something else...?

I just watched a video of someone with the same cpu and gpu as you playing bf3 @1280x720 and he was getting 15-25 fps. Your system cannot handle bf3

It says he gets 25-36 on medium at that resoltion but i guarantee in bigger matches its lower as well as huge fps dips.

If your fps doesnt change when going from say ultra to low you are bottlenecked somewhere on your system. Id say since that gou is also only 1gb it cant even load ultra fully depending on what resolution you play at.

How much ram do you have? Sometimes disabling your page file helps so its not using the hdd as longs as you have enough ram it will help a little bit.

Thats good. I know for some reason. If i even try to manually edit my settings i get worse fos than using the pre defined catalyst settings for that game.

On my only nvidia cards it did help me though by lowering some stuff and setting my pre rendered frames to 2.
