Hello, im looking to upgrade my dell inspiron 530's PSU. It currently has 2GB ram, Nvidia 240 GT, and an intel duo 3.2ghz. I want to upgrade my graphics card to a 7770. Will this PSU be compatible with this computer? I plan on buying a cheap one because of my low budget. All answers appreciated. Thank you!

It will be compatible if the 7770 you are getting only needs one 6 pin connector.
I understand you are on a budget, but personally I would go for the Corsair CX500 for $50 if you can manage that

I double checked and the 7770 only needs 1. So it is compatible.

Thanks for your reply Typolo. One other thing. My budget is very low so I decided im not going to order online and get a graphics card in store. So im trying to find a card that doesnt require me to upgrade my PSU and the 7750 does it. But as I go to look at what PCI E is plugged into the 240 GT I couldnt find one and I guess it doesnt have one. Will the 7750 run without it? Im confused.

That is a very very poor PSU , don't buy it or you risk damage to your other components.

Thanks for your help, but I dont plan on doing a PSU upgrade anymore. Im looking to how I can upgrade my graphics card without having to use a PCI express due to mine not having one.

Dell's aren't made to upgrade. That's why choices are limited.

You should definitely have the supplemental power attached, form the power supply. You definitely need a power supply that can supply the proper power. Otherwise the new graphics card will have problems

I am not sure what happening here, because your GT card is plugged into PCIE, which is the closest slot to CPU.
Any 7750 card will work with your 300 watt PSU, no worries here.
If you don't want to pay for shipping, look at offers with free shipping like this one http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007Z3T5JC?ie=UTF8&for...

Anything else I can help you with?

Hi Kisianik,

Some of the newer HD 7750s come at a higher stock frequency than the launch models and do require an external 6 pin power connector as the TDP is increased from 55 watts to 75 watts. In theory this should work with just the 75 watts drawn from the socket, not all OEM motherboards are up to snuff so such a borderline case is ill advised at best. Better safe than sorry. A 75 watt draw does not leave a whole lot of room on a crummy 300 watt power supply which may deliver 200 watts on the 12 volt rail before failing.
