What sort of performance are you looking for? What capacity would you like? What form factor (i.e. desktop or laptop)?

If you're just looking for a barebones desktop drive, you can find some great refurbs at Newegg.

Those are a few options you may have, if this is the kind of drive you're after. Regardless of what you choose, I would highly recommend a refurbished drive at your price range if you are looking for something that's not puny or poor-performing.

I want a desktop hard drive.

I suggest you do not skim on the hdd as very cheap hard drives tend to be unreliable and slow. This may lead to very slow boot up times and it may take a long time to find files. you should maybe just go with a wd blue 1tb or a seagate 1tb.
