I rebuilt my computer a couple of days ago and had the internet working fine, updated the network drive yesterday. After the update the computer doesnt recognize that its plugged into the internet. I am using a wired computer with a router connecting it to DSL. I have tried a couple of things that other threads have given; disable/enable network card, uninstall card so windows 7 replaces the card, unstalling the update, checking in the adapter settings that internet protocol version 4 is set up right ( but also have 8 other connections in the adapter). Not sure where to go from here will be trying some things until I get word from you guys.
So I finally got internet working but not sure if this is a complete fix so wont say solved till tomorrow. I started the computer through safe mode with networking by clicking F8 before the windows screen. Then signed in and went to system restore to prior to the udated today worked.
if its a intel motherboard, then you can go to intel's driver site and choose the option, automatically check for updates, and see if there is an appropriate driver coming up for the network card
OK so its not resolved as I thought. I checked for updates on the asus website and updated the most recent but it had me first go to intel website and install an update there first but didnt seem as it completed, went to command prompt and then it closed without righting anything down. I restored the computer to an earlier time because windows updated the same one again and the connection went away. I tried to follow the steps from last time it went out but can't get the signal back. Also the computer seems super slow today, have
i7 cpu and
asus p8z77-v pro board with
nvidia Geforce GTX 560 Ti
but is running slower than my old build, everything is running slowly, takes a minute to open anything up and sometimes just lags out/freezes for a few seconds.
