This is my frist custom build and will be used for gaming mostly, I want to play all current games in high-ultra settings @720p (thats all my monitor can handle until I upgrade in the future I guess) if possible, Im upgrading from a very old pc from 2007 with an amd HD4650 so its a huge upgrade.
Im planning to buy everything on 23 december, my limit is $800. Im trying to get the best performance, have OC capabilitys (4.2-4.5) and mobos that can handle it. I chose GTX 770 since I thinks a very powerful card which I wont need to upgrade in at least 2-3 years (I stayed away from AMD's 270x and 280x cards since I heard they had drivers problems), I want to leave the option for a future SLI upgrade in maybe another year or 2 if really needed. I dont plan to upgrade my cpu or mobo for many years so I dont really care about future socket/cpu. If went for SLI in the future I would upgrade my PSU at the given time as well.

Am I getting the best for my money? I couldnt fit a hard drive in my build so I will be using an old hard drive that I have from my really old pc for a couple of weeks, I also couldnt use intel 4th generations since the good mobos for OC are more expensive and I always end up over budget.

better save up some more money dude and buy a better MB if your going AMD... get a 990FX MB... the Intel build you best save some more money for that also... get an i7 type over 3.0Ghz and better motherboard... the AMD build you might have to use another CPU to flash the MB to take that CPU and the Intel Build wont last more than 2-4 years due to games being upgraded to higher end stuff... Also invest in to 760 SLI, 770 Sli or a GTX 780.. also you would want to get at least a 750w PSU for SLI.... so all in all save up some money till you got at least 1300$ so you get what you want... Just my two cents...

I like your build, is there a big difference between the GTX 760 and 770? I chose intel 3rd gen since I was reading benchmarks and its not a big difference when OCing, and on that build I could afford to buy the 770. But yours uses the latest models which is always good, also better PSU.

Thanks, I agree on some points, $1300 would get me a lot better pc, but thats the problems, I wont have much money later, so its either now for 800 or nothing later. I dont think I need i7 for gaming tho, and the board I chose is 990, just the model name is 99X but its 990 as you suggest. About the PSU needing 750w I agee completely and I would upgrade if I was indeed going to SLI, but not for the near future.

My intel build with 3rd gen cpu will last as you said, 2-4 years, whichi is exactly what I want, by that time I will have a better job and will be able to afford better things, thanks for your answer.

@Neverrazor, thanks man, If I indeed go AMD, will definetly pick one of the brands you suggested.

I'd recommend the 8320 and asus but pro not evo mobo. Should be like $10-15 difference when on sale. And you wont need another cpu to flash bios, just use a different pc or laptop and download new bios version to usb, then stick it in the mobo bios usb flashback slot. If your trying to stay the $800, is why im recommending the amd build. Just slightly cheaper, but will still easily allow a very decent gpu. And then later on just add to it. Same as I did. I now have over $2000 dumped into my amd system, within last 6 months, and no offense but will go neck and neck with overclocked 4770k's. It uses more power, runs hotter, but is a lot cheaper and will barely barely notice a difference between the two. Espceially if you don't have an intel build sitting right next to your amd build, running the same game, and even then only paying attention to fraps. Which is all very unlikely nor will it even be more than a few fps difference anyways. I'd say save $100-150 go AMD and overclock it If you want and take 10fps 'TOPS' hit in frps. Oh but wait $100-150 will get you that much better of a GPU, now its more fps, haha. Intel is better, but budget pc its all about gpu.
