I have a intel i7 3770k cpu, 16 gigs of ram, an ASRock z77 Extreme4 LGA1155 Mobo. I go to turn of my computer from the menu. Everything goes well, and the everything shuts down except my tower. All the lights are on and fans are running and only way of shutting down is holding down the power button on my tower. I get a "05" code on my mobo LED. I tried searching what it is, and I have loaded default settings by going to my bios and clicking on that but still this problem occurs. I am running windows 7 ultimate. This did not happen when I built this rig. After a while, I had to start holding down power button on tower to shut it down. Any help is much appreciated, thank you.

From ASRock Support pages:

Any code between 01 - 54: "Problem related to memory. Please re-install the CPU and memory then clear CMOS. If the problem still exists, please install only one memory module or try using other memory modules."

My computer sometimes shutdowns normally but I dont know why. I dont know if I am doing something differently, but after these occasions, it goes back to same problem. Where I have to hold down the power button.

I am getting the same issue, I am going to try and run it with a single RAM. Do you have any issues with your cpu fan and booting? It seems in my box there is a direct correlation between failed boots and the cpu fan not spinning. However, on these failed boots the GPUS/HDD/SSD/DVD are all getting power and appear to be functioning properly however the machine doesn't post and there is obviously no display. I have been booting/rebooting my machine continuously trying to get into the bios and will post back as i trouble shoot more.

*don't suppose you found a solution by chance?
