I've noticed that the Asus Gtx 770 model has the older CUII cooler and there are several Gtx 770's in Palit's range. The one above though has a large OC and loads of positive reviews. If the Asus model had the newer Cooltech design fan, then I'd recommend this immediately over the Palit (I have the Asus R9280X-DC2T-3GD5 and it runs very quiet and cool). However, the Gtx 770 may run a bit cooler than the R9 280x anywway, so you may be ok with the Asus regardless. Not much in it between these two, so as ever, price, warranty length, free games and with a "non-essential" purchase, how it makes you feel comes into the equation. I suspect you'll go for the Asus but believe me, I've had a Palit card previously and it was a great Gpu.

DON'T TOUCH THAT PALIT CRAP!!! I have installed them for a number of my customers and all have broken down after a month or two, go with ASUS!! by the way for the price of gtx 770 why don't you buy an R9-290, which beats gtx 780 out of the box!!?

Your personal xp but bear in mind that Palit is one of the largest manufacturers of Nvidia cards, so they're not going to deliberately knock out duff cards, as it wouldn't be in their best interest to do so . I suppose if you look at Nvidia's Authorized Board Partner Program (http://www.nvidia.com/object/pf_boardpartners.html), it includes Asus, Evga, Galaxy, Gigabyte, Msi, Pny and Zotac, so if you want complete peace of mind (as far as you can get with these things), then PCPRO should go with the Asus board.

I totally agree with you, avoiding palit is a great Idea but going for EVGA is probably a better idea. But, asus is fine totally. As for r9 290 they get pretty much heated while gaming, but that's not much of a problem as they can take it.
So @PCPRO go for r9 290 when they come out with better aftermarket coolers.

agreed! wait for a couple of weeks, r9-290s with custom coolers are on their way...

I have a Palit 560Ti that is still going after nearly three years, maybe you're not installing them properly.

My old Palit HD 4870 I gave to a friend is still running strong, although the backplate has rusted over the years.

That website 'build' is pretty misleading about the graphics card. Up above it shows the GTX 770 OC version with the new cooler, but when you scroll down it shows the ordinary card with the older cooler. I suppose you're buying that prebuilt system from that website.

If money is tight then just get the cheaper one, Palit cards are fine but Asus ones are usually more expensive.

I really wouldn't go for the Palit just on the basis of it having one more fan! Looking at the build link that you provided, if you can choose at no cost between the Asus and Palit, then get the Asus every time! The Asuscards are the quitest and you really won't see more than 1 or 2 fps difference between these cards. If you want another reason, then Asus provide a 3 year warranty, whereas Palit's is only 2 years. Stick with the build you've got there in the link and you won't go wrong.

+1
I would never go with the Palit, some said they had it and they liked their graphics cards, I would like to say they were really lucky, or maybe I was REALLY unlucky...Asus is more reliable, Asus is more reputable, Asus has a better warranty, Asus is more stable...I see no reason to go with Palit, if it were cheaper, then it might make sense
