Hey guys, im about to build my first gaming pc and was wondering, how long would this rig last me?

Specs: Intel i5 4670k
EVGA Superclocked GTX 770 4gb (planning to run 2 in sli later)
16 gb corsair 16 gb ddr3 ram
ASUS z87-a motherboard

I just want to know since the upcomimg release of Nvidias maxwell gpus and ddr4. Is it worth waiting or will this system last me quite a while (at least 5 years)?

Solution
Yes, that rig is simply great and will last till 2017 when sli'd your gpu it is sure last some more years. And by that time Nvidia's drivers will be even better and you will get twice the performance in gaming than single gtx 770.

Hasswell cpu's get pretty hot under load so get a nice liquid cooler if you wan't major overclocks or else a budget air cooler will do the job fine.

Saying that it will last until 2017 is a very bold statement. It depends on what the OP means by "last".
Some people consider the word "last" as in how long before it simply cannot do anything anymore because it is so out-dated and old.
Other people take it as how long before it can't max out games.

That's what I meant, with single gtx 770 and 4670k it will last till 2017. By that I mean enough to run games on Very low- low/medium settings. Ubisoft has said you will be able to ultra watch dogs with 3770k or fx 8350 but as for 3570k, we recommend high settings. And 4670k is only 6% better than 3570k in gaming so consider it as well.
