This depends on the motherboard, but generally yes.
Graphics card (GPU) will take a PCI-E x16.
Wireless network adapter will take a PCI-E x1 slot or a PCI slot depending on the adapter.
ATX Motherboards will have the PCI-E x16 slot and some combination of other PCI and PCI-E slots.
The slot directly adjacent to the PCI-E x16 slot may not be usable if the graphics card has a 2 slot cooler.
hey just wanna ask ,is it okay to put the wireless adapter to the x8 cause on my motherboard(asus sabertooth 990fx r2.0) the x1 is covered by the video card
This motherboard has the following slots:
3 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (dual x16 or x16/x8/x8) *1
1 x PCIe 2.0 x16 (x4 mode, black)
1 x PCIe 2.0 x1
1 x PCI
A PCI-E x1 network adapter will work in any of these except the PCI slot (second from the bottom of the board).
Insert the graphics card in the PCI-E x16 slot closest to the CPU.
Insert the wireless network adapter in any of the other PCI-E x16 slots.
