Hi,

Not very PC literate, having trouble playing some games.

Used to play WoW and some other MMOs, however they started to crash quite often, the screen would freeze and the sound would get stuck for 2-5 seconds. I'd then have to hold the power button till it switched off.

Gave up on these games and started to play a different game called XCom. Was good at first but then the PC would just switch itself off randomly. Had to stop playing that game as well now. Playing FM 2014 instead and it was fine for about a month but then the PC started to switch itself off again, noticed it would happen more often when i was streaming in the background so I just used an old laptop to stream instead. This seemed to be ok for another month but now even with nothing running in the background the PC will still switch itself off while playing this game.

Friend says this is due to temperature but not so sure myself, cleaned all the dust out from the case ect but still switching itself off.

About 1yr ago my PSU went boom, took it to a shop and they replaced it. About 3 months after this my electrical power socket developed a fault and one time the PC switched on and off about 10 times in a just a few seconds (along with some unhealthy electrical noises coming from the socket on the wall) Wonder if maybe it's just a temperature problem afterall or maybe damage to the PC internally. Gonna borrow a friend's old tower and try my gfx card in there, just in case its a problem with my gfx card.

Anyway downloaded this temp thingy to see the readings but I honestly have no idea what the norms are, sorry for this being so long but i'm very short on time & money and was wondering if there's anybody out there who knows these symptoms who could give advice.

Cheers
