So I bought this system, sabertooth 990fx r2.0, amd 8350, and 780ti. Put it together and the red cpu light came on and it never posted and had no beeps errors. After testing things and talking with Asus we concluded the board was bad. rma'd it. got the new board and set it up breadboard style this time first with just cpu, one stick of mem and gpu. it posted! I then proceeded to install it in the case and attach all other components. When done I fired it up and nothing but the red cpu light again. Took it all apart and set it up exactly as I first did, breadboarded and nothing but the cpu light and no beeps. Im at my wits end with this board. I know the logical solution would be something is frying the mb, but I cant help feeling that something is just triggering that cpu light and not resetting. I've even taken out the battery for 6 hours and reset the cmos and still nothing. Any ideas?

did you flash your bios? i just bought it 2 days ago, before i do anything i just connect the 24 pin and 8 pin, no cpu ram etc and flash it with the usb flashback it was super easy and the latest bios is making this mobo just a beast compare to the old bios, this motherboard shiped with the bios i think its 0219 or something like that and that only works with phenom and athlon while the 8350 works great with the bios since 1006 but now im using 2104 and rockin :)(my cpu is also 8350)

If the red CPU light is staying on and the build is not POSTing, then that either means that you have a bad CPU, or you haven't installed the 8 pin CPU power plug that is at the very top of the board.

no I did not flash this one, when i first breadboarded and it posted I figured all was good since the original never even did that. hooked everything else up and then back to the red cpu light. I could try and flash it if you think that could work. But Im thinking its something more since it will not even give me beeps. And yes I do have the 8 pin connecter attached. It did post once

i dont think this motherboard comes with a speaker? or do you have one? this motherboard gives you problem from the leds, just try to flash your bios first and see if that works :)

yes i have speakers laying around, And when i first breadboarded it, it gave all the correct beeps, posted visuals on the monitor everything it was suppose to do. But after connecting all other components it goes red. I have returned it back to the exact way it orginally posted and flashed the mb still red. I have removed everything and and still just the red cpu light even with the flash.
