I'm building a PC and i was wondering what watt psu would i need and what would be the best brand or model / reasonably priced psu
CPU :intel i5 4670k (haswell) LGA 1150
motherboard: MSI Z87 G45 lga 1150
memory:Corsair vengence cl (8GB)4GB x 2 1600mhz
GPU: msi gefore gtx 760 2048 mb
Optical drive:Samsung 24x SH-224DB DVD-RW SATA
monitor: asus Vs228d 22 inch
 
yea, I was based on tier 3 list(Tier 3 Brands - Power supplies fully able to meet ATX specs, although closer to the edges of the limits than higher tier units. Still solid units) but as you just say, it seems like real world is showing other fact, maybe Eggxpert Tiered Power Supply List need an update on that specific model.

Corsair has shown good stable units, is a very reputable brand, so is a shame to hear that they are using crap caps, I just hope this issue does not become permanent.

I agree, and other thing that really worries me is the fact that this particular model (CX500W)is made by Channel Well, so they whent for crap caps ??. that is really rare.
I will be looking for some in depth reviews to update myself.
