Current System --Will be pushed down the chain as the backup pc
CPU - i7860
MB - asus p7p55d pro
RAM - 12gigs ddr 3 1600 ---swapped out with 8gig
Video Cards - 2x EVGA 660 2gb models SLI --swapped out with a 550ti 2gig
=======All drives will be swapped out with standard SATA drives from my current back up box
HD 2 hitachi 7200rpm 2TB drives
SSD 1 Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD2 2.5" 128GB SATA III --Win 7
SSD 2 OCZ vertex 2 100gig--Win 8

UPgrade TO--migrate to
CPU - I7 4770k or Intel Intel Core i5-4570 or Intel Intel Core i5-4670k
RAM - 12 gigs 1600
MB - Asrock Extreme 4
Video Cards - 2x EVGA 660 2gb models SLI
HD 2 hitachi 7200rpm 2TB drives
SSD 1 Crucial M4 CT128M4SSD2 2.5" 128GB SATA III --Win 7

In my opinion, you should get the i5 4670k and the ASRock Z87 Extreme4

Yeaa i was thinking that too from all my research fingers seems to point in the direction of the I5 chips cost versus performance the gap is not a big factor. Microcenter has it under a bundle deal....and i was thinking that 100 buck difference could be saved or spent elsewhere.....Thanks for your insight on the matter.
