SSD not detected after shut down

Hi,

I've bought a SanDisk Estreme II SSD 2 days ago.

I plugged it to the first SATA port of my motherboard, and a SATA power cable. Then I started my computer and installed Windows 7 Pro without any issue on the SSD, but after I shutdown the PC, the SSD isn't detected anymore in the bios.

The thing is that if I enter bios setup, SSD isn't detected the first time, but from here if I restart the computer it is going to be detected on the next launch.

Identically, from windows, if I do a "reboot", everything works fine, but if I do a shutdown, then SSD won't be detected the next time I start the computer.

Do you have any idea about how to solve this?
Do you think I should return back the SSD?

Thanks in advance

Thanks for your help. I did what you asked but I'm not sure how to read the results. Here is the screenshot of CrystalDiskInfo tests:

What do you think?

The drive is in perfect condition, nothing to worry about. It could be a matter of loose connection, so the drive is appearing and disappearing. Or you need a BIOS update.

And try to test the drive one more time with vendors diagnostics tool, to be more sure, that the drive is healthy.

Hi lonewolf7,

As you suggested, I did a bios update (did I mention I have an Asus P7P55D) but this didn't fix the problem. I tried to update the SSD firmware too with SanDisk SSD Toolkit (http://kb.sandisk.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/9328/) but it seemed to be already up to date.

I've tested to plug the SSD on other SATA ports but problem is still there.
Do you have any idea on what I could do? Maybe changing IDE mode to AHCI? Test it with a new SATA cable?

Thanks
