I just build a setup on asus z9pa-u8 server mobo. It has a 82574L Gigabit Lan, and when it sends packets, it makes that anoying sound, can somone tell me how to put it off ? please it makes me crazy QQ

Solution
That DOES sound like a clock.

Check the bios and Intel drivers since they packs lots of options to see if it has any options. Can you find the location of the buzzer/speaker making the sound. Maybe you can just unplug it.

I found the speaker, red or blue cable XD ?

Theres tons of settings in the LAN driver and setup but i cant find any responsible for it. Ill try to unplug the speaker.

Most annoying sound i ever heard.

Did you by any chance have the speaker plugged in wrong. I ask this because the board has connectors for front LEDs to indicate network activity. and the connections are very close to the speaker connector.

To add to it, that board seems to already have a speaker onboard.

Makes me want to connect a speaker to a HDD led on an old board to see if it makes that sound.

I can now simulate a hard drive with my ssd using the led header :p Not that I would ever do that. I hate extra noise.

I think one would want to ensure the speaker would not be too much load for the header or even better buffer it with a transistor or some other voltage follower.

Old board + speaker here i come.
