Howdy everyone.

First off, specs:
Motherboard - MSI PH67A- C43
Video card - AMD Radeon R7850 twin frozr 2GB
Processor - intel core i5 - 2320 LGA1155
Ram - 12 GB

And now what happened :

1. I come back on saturday afternoon. Start using computer and after about and hour of playing, screen starts flickering. I notice random expontaneous screen tearing and in general visual problems until the entire screen turns brown (Im guessing due to the majority of colors on the game at the time) game crashes. I close it, computer works fine except theres squares with vertical stripes in them on random spots on the screen. Ebrntually they went away.

2. Updated my video drivers. Tried running the game again, same issues, except they start the instant I logged in my character and started moving. If I stood still, it took longer to show any signs.

3. Tried running two other games, occured only with one of them. But, it was the one of the two that was more graphically demanding.
( Wow and GW2. But not with Hearthstone)

4. Meant to test another game, but I was restarting my computer. During the boot image showing the MSI motherboard picture, I notice, again, glitches on the colors in a few areas. This time not squares, but long vertical lines with different colors.

5. Once past the initial boot and past the windows logo, screen turns black and the only thing I see are lines again. Except only like two thing horizontal glitch lines. Given a while, the pc would go all the way to my login screen, but when trying the put my password, screen would once again flicker several times until it would stop, and only show a solid color, and the computer would freeze until force shutdown.

6. Cleaned the computer a bit, but only the video card showed any signs of being hot. However, the bios would show temperatures of 79* on the cpu. Not sure if F or C.

7. Tried reinstalling windows 8 see if it made any difference though I didnt expect anything. However, I am not sure if the installation co pleter, because now the screen remains completely black once its past the windows logo. I have no idea if the installation finished, but im guessing not, since it didnt take as long as I remember it used to.

8. Before said reinstall, I did manage to boot the computer in safe mode. But the entire time, during login screen, and once the computer had logged in and working in safe mode, two blue thick vertical lines were visible the entire time.

9. Now the computer is stuck on black screen after the windows logo. I can access the bios at least. But the graphic problems on the motherboard picture during booting remains, and similar glitches are visible while in the bios.

I am inclined to believe its the video card. I expect that if it were the processor or motherboard, or even ram(at least from a previous experience I had with my old pc) I wouldnt have had such an easy time getting into safe mode and using the computer. Not to mention the error first started occuring when putting the video card in more stress due to the games.

Nonetheless, I tried removing the ram cards and changing them up, and nothing. Sadly,I do not have any other parts I can try using, or any other pc I could test run the video card. Also worth mentioning that I never bothered with overclocking, as it wasnt needed so far.

Im hoping someone in these forums can shed some light.

Thanks in advance!

Ps. If it is the video card, could anyone suggest one that is compatible and ranging from 100-200$ ?

Pps. The computer is about a year and a half old. And I do use it quite a bit.

Ppps. Forgot to mention, I did notice the video card fans acting weird. They would turn on and off frequently during boot for a while. If I left the computer running for a bit, they would eventually continue spinning, however. I was not sure if this is due to smart usage of the fans, only turning on and adjusting speed as needed, or because or electricity or a faulty video card.

But, besides the video card fans stuttering when the computer is first turned on, and then going to normal...I never really experienced anything along the lines of power shortage that I remember of. No sudden restarts, or anything.

i suppose it could always be a posibility.
