Hello, I'm thinking of connecting my xbox controller to my windows 8.1 pc. Two questions:

1: will it work with 8.1

2: is there a command thing I where lets say I press the left trigger it right clicks and when I move joystick 2 left the mouse moves left?

Thanks, Eric

There is no pc version, any 360 controller works on pc. When you plug it in it will install the drivers. But it won't have mouse controls. You will need some other software to do that and there are many out there, try joytokey. http://www.instructables.com/id/Use-an-Xbox-360-controller-as-a-mouse/

you are wrong, about there is not pc version, have faith I have it..... sorry you think otherwise, much the same way there is no pc version of kinnect.

Hook it up all you want but the options are not the same, neither is the ability to customize.

Im not kidding here, i've tried it all and know factually there is a difference.

You get it damn near anywhere and it costs more.
EB games or newegg or local video game shops

I bought 1 at canada computers and the other at eb games.

you can assign all kinds of actions to the conroller where as the standard version you can not program it to function outside of it's specification

I won't deny there are different versions but the one labeled "for windows" isn't any different in functionality or customizabilty. If the original controller works on pc with all customizable buttons, then what extra features doesn't it have? It can show up as a common controller but you can just download the drivers/software manually. Maybe that's your issue.

Don't bring kinect into this, that's a different subject.
