$450 PC gaming build

Hello I would like some advice on the parts that I would get to build my PC I will only be using it for gaming not big games just general steam games like Dota 2 but I want to be able to run it on high settings.I was thinking a intel based CPU but I heard AMD is faster but causes more heat so which ever it better for the price. And I will also be buying a new monitor as well but won't add this to the $450 budget. Thank you in advance

good brand on the PSU, the 2nd build allows for overclocking if that interests you, I personally like the first build the most (fx 6300) and will be more future proof, but the phenom/athalon are both good for the kind of games you described.
