I just got the EVGA ACX Cooler 780 superclocked as my first high end card. It's part of a new system build. I see it takes two power lines, 8 and 6 pin and requires a minimum of 30 Amps from the +12 volt rail. My PSU (XFX Black Edition Modular 850W) can deliver up to 70 amps from the +12 volt rail. Hope that's enough! The PSU came with several PSU to PCIe cables that have a single plug for the PSU split into two 8-pin plugs split 6/2 for the PCIe devices. My question is can I use one of these cables from the PSU attaching one 6/2 pin and one 6 pin to the 780 or should I use two cables from the PSU?

Your PSU is overkill, don't worry.

Yes, you can use both plugs on one cable, no problem - the cable is wired specifically so you can do that.

Thanks for the quick reply. I was worried due to fact the card runs hot - the manual tells you not to touch it for a couple of minutes after it has been turned off. I was concerned that a single wire might be overloaded.

Nope, you're fine. And the only reason they tell you that is to cover themselves from liability - pretty much every graphics card now says that, even something as low-power as a GTX 640.
