When I turn on my computer the bios screenw I'll come up then another thing I will pop up for about 1 second then after that I get a blinking cursor in top left of screen. Then after about 15 seconds it loads normal win 7 logo and then gets halfway on logo and then crashes.

I tried changing boot order but I'm not sure I'm using a Lenovo computer not sure how check which one since I since I got it second hand.

I can't do a fresh windows 7 installation because it didn't come with windows 7 disk just that it was on it when I got I t. Also I did do a restore point a few days ago so should I do that?

Looking at this in a simply way, the BIOS runs the first part and then "hands off" to the Operating System (OS). Since you are seeing the OS loading screen the BIOS is done and the OS is doing it's thing. If it's stopping on the loading screen we know the problem is with the OS.

The boot order won't affect this as that only looks at one thing and asks if it has an OS, if not, it move to the next item in that list.

Since you don't have a DVD, i'm assuming you haven't created a System Recovery Disc. You can download an ISO file of the OS and then burn this ISO file to a DVD and then boot from that. Let me find some directions for you...

Download ISO files here:

Written down the current settings so will I need to purchase a new copy of win 7 or if I download what you said will it work just as well? Also will it delete my current stuff?

I don't think it's the OS as it was working perfectly fine this morning.

That's good to hear. Problems with the OS can be a head headache as there are so many ways it could go wrong. One thing you should do it get the serial number that is currently installed and keep that written down somewhere. I would recommend either of the programs listed below for that.

- Get the free version: http://davehope.co.uk/projects/product-key-finder/
- This one shows more info then the above: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html

Also, create a system restore disc incase you do have issues in the future. At least you will have the option to get things working again. Glad it's hear it's working. Probably need to close this thread then.
