ERROR MESSAGE on boot, ASUS Mobo bios

I have an ASUS H87M-PRO motherboard in my self built desktop tower and all was working perfectly until I tried to put a video card in it from another computer. I have removed the offending video card and won't be using it but now I get error messages on boot that I can't seem to clear out and they force me to hit F1 each time I boot.

They are:

1 - Power supply surges detected during the previous power on, ASUS Anti-Surge was triggered to protect the system from unstable power supply unit!
2 - CPU Over Voltage Error.

I can go into the BIOS and turn these error messages off and the computer boots fine and works fine (had it on since last night with no issues) but I don't want to leave the error detection off. I have red lettering in my BIOS for "CPU Temperature", "CPU Input Voltage" and "Power Supply Surge". When the detection for all three of these errors is off the computer boots right up.

I tried pulling the CMOS battery, was out for about 10 minutes, and that didn't get rid of the error messages. Also the power supply is a 600 watt Zalman that is less than a month old.

I haven't ever overclocked the system.

To me it seems like these errors are cached in the BIOS from when I tried the video card but I can't get them cleared. Any suggestions?

I already had the latest BIOS installed so I tried to go back to an earlier version and the system told me it was "outdated". So I re-installed the latest version and it said everything was reset but I still have the power surge/CPU error messages on boot and had to hit F1 again.

The computer works fine, it's highly unlikely this is an error that requires me to need a "new setup".

I'm monitoring CPU temp and it's holding steady at around 56 degrees Fahrenheit even though the BIOS warning for "CPU Temperature" still says "-128C/ -198". This appears to be an ASUS bios issue and I will have to call them tomorrow when they are in.
