Hi everyone,
Christmas is rolling around, and my insanely generous godmother is already asking me if I want the new iPad Air. I have decided to instead ask her for a computer upgrade. I built a desktop about a year ago, and the specs are below.

Gigabyte Windforce 7970
2x4 GB G.Skill Sniper RAM
1 TB WD Blue HDD
Rosewill Blackbone case
Gigabyte 990FX UD3 AM3+ motherboard
Rosewill 750W PSU
FX-6300
Hyper 212 EVO

I would like recommendations for what parts would be

a) most important, provide highest performance boost
b) easiest to upgrade (not the mobo or case, for example)

I am interested in reducing the noise levels of my PC, and improving general performance.

I think that Samsung makes some of the best SSDs. I have the 128 GB Samsung 840 Pro and I really like it. I just bench-marked it yesterday:

Get at least 120 - 128 GB and if she will stretch it, go for 250 - 256 GB.

Merry Christmas!
