When I play games my CPU temp will rise from 36c to about 80c after about 10 - 30 minutes . When using anything else apart from gaming the computer will stay cool and not shut off. (replaced psu due to problems , thought it was a powersupply problem it also came with fan but I am sure its the CPU, I have had the computer since last christmass and the problems started about 4 -5 months after.) heres the specs : AMD Bulldozer FX-4130 @ 3.8Ghz (Quad)
ASUS M5A78L-M LX
4GB DDR3 1333Mhz
1TB SATA3, 6Gb/s
SONY 24X DVD+/-RW
AMD Radeon HD6670 2GB

Your MB is the problem, here is from asus: AMD AM3+ FX™/Phenom™ II/Athlon™ II/Sempron™ 100 Series Processors
Supports CPU up to 95 W.
Because the fx4130 has the TDP 125W, all you can do try to underclock the cpu to 3.6ghz or whatever you can play the game and the PC will not shutdown, or buy the aftermarket cpu cooler.

Kind of a noob to PC but I have got to ask is the stock heatsink the fan on the CPU ?

Also in the mean time of replacing it does anyone know how to underclock ?

Would it be better to get the stock heatsink replaced with the same one or will it eventually become faulty again ?

I bought the whole computer from a custom PC website called Palicomp , I also have warranty so I can get any part replaced , I'll give you a link to the website I purchased it from (I do not know the case) http://www.palicomp.co.uk/gaming-pcs/excalibur-merlin-s...

stock heatsink is what the sell by default its appauling and fact they say you can occ on it is rubbish.

id call the place back i doubt they will change the cooler for a better one they will most likely replace the paste and resit it and say its fixed they anything you do inside the case without paying them probly void the warranty

id recomend
Cooler Master GeminII S524 due to height isnt massive your case is most likely a mid tower so it should fit
and mx4 paste

http://www.amazon.com/Cooler-Master-GeminII-S524-RR-G52...

http://www.amazon.com/ARCTIC-MX-4-Carbon-Based-Thermal-...

anyway call them up see if opening the case voids the warrenty if not then take a few pictures so i can see inside your case to be sure its the stock so i can tell you how to uninstall the cooler
