Hey there, I recently switched from a BFG 550 Watt PSU to an EVGA 600 Watt because i'm going to be getting the GTX 770.

After switching, I noticed these faint vertical waves, or lines going up and down the screen. It looks like I am watching a video tape of an old CRT monitor.

I put my old power supply back in and I was still getting the vertical lines. I changed the power cord, and the vertical lines became a lot less noticeable, but they are still there. They are very faint, but still noticeable and annoying.

I fired up Cinebench and as soon as I started the CPU test, all the vertical waves disappeared. As soon as the test was over, the vertical waves came back.

I also hooked my computer up to the TV and there were no vertical lines at all.

So I am quite confused here. I would assume its just my monitor, but why would they disappear when my CPU comes under load? And why do the lines not appear on my TV?

Anyone have any ideas?

Fixed by switching from a VGA cable to a DVI cable.

Silly me.
