So as some of you know the Christmas holiday is about here and I'm in need of a new monitor. My dad is determined to buy a Samsung monitor, but the Asus monitors are really appealing. He's been in electronics for a while(like 30 years) and hes skeptical about the Asus compared to the Samsung in terms of quality of parts and reliability. Is there anyone who knows anything about this topic?

I already have a Dell 24" 1080p monitor and I'm looking to do dual display with a 2nd 24" monitor. I don't really need anything more than 1080p, nor can I afford anything more. I have about a $200 budget.

I have a concern that if I buy a monitor now that Ill be missing out on G-Sync from nVidia, would it be worth waiting for? I will be using the monitor mostly for gaming.

Suggestions and advice is much appreciated, the only options for monitors I'd buy are Samsung, Asus, and maybe BenQ. Thank You!

I only use Samsung monitors, but that's just me. I've only heard good thing about Asus. I don't really recommend BenQ

If you want gsync, its best to wait for it to come out officially, and buy a gsync enabled monitor, as opposed to modding a monitor later on with gsync when its available.

also expect to wait a while for it to become mature and useable to a point where its not just a novelty.
