cpu: Intel core i7 920 Bloomfield 1366 LGA
motherboard: Asus P6TSE
gpu: RADEON HD 5850
psu : Coolermaster 850w
RAM: 6gb
hd: 750 gb HDD

Hey guys, I am looking into upgrading my system in order to successfully deal with next year's graphic requirements.Budget 1000 euro.Need SSD for sure.Thank you in advance!

Solution
if you are able to get a decent cpu cooler, and overclock your cpu to 3.8-4 ghz, it will pretty much be just as fast as current cpu's. that will allow you to use a better gpu. if you do not feel like you want to overclock your cpu, then you could always buy a new mb/cpu/ram considering you have a 1k euro budget.

but if it were me, i would overclock as best i could, upgrade the ram to 12gig and put in a new gpu.

Thank you for the response. I am worried about whether my system can fully utilize a higher end gpu, so I guess
I wont have any "problems" with the 280 ? What about ram?

Τhank you for the response .I would like to examine both options; Lets say I keep the cpu and I oc it, I have already a noctua 2010 model cooler installed .What would be the best setup for gpu/ram/ssd that would take me to next gen up to 1k. Would I face problems with the my current cpu/mother combo and the next gen gpu? Will i be able to take full advantage of the gpu and what model is my limit?

If i decide to remove the cpu and do sth better , what would be the ideal combo of cpu/ssd/gpu/ram for up to 1k.In that case will my motherboard suffice or i ll be looking into replacing that too?

Sorry for my newbie questions and thanks again in advance!

if you are going to overclock, i would get 12 gig of 1600mhz ram, a 280x, and whatever ssd you decide on (i prefer intel or samsung).

if you want to upgrade, then a 4770k cpu, a decent z87 motherboard of your choosing, 8gig of 1600mhz ram and a 290 or 290x whenever the aftermarket coolers are available.

Is there a reason why you insist on the ATI gpu and not the Nvidia equivalent of 770 ?
