Computer started running saying it didn't have enough memory and running slowly with photoshop elements. I did control/alt/delete, then left it for a while, then saw the screen had gone blank. Left it for a while, then found only thing i thought I could do was power off. Now it won't power up, but when I switch the on/off switch on at the back, a lamp attached to the power strip seems to flicker a bit. There are no lights appearing in the case. The power strip is working, and i unattached the printer, etc. Once before the computer wouldn't power on, but I left it a while and then it worked. Any suggestions? (I don't want to test the power supply myself, as I don't know enough to do it safely.)

Actually, i waited another 45 minutes or so, tried again, and then it worked. Same thing it did before. Any idea of what is going on so I can fix it before it goes completely belly up?

(I am running windows 7 with 4 gig of ram). To answer your question, when it wasn't working: no, there were no lights, no fans, and I took off the cover and looked at the motherboard and there were no lights showing on it....nada..

Thank you for responding.

take temp readings when your pc is working....see if any component is over heating.

i also have doubts regarding your psu now....can you arrange another psu just to check if it is your psu that is failing you?????
