I think we all agree that Crysis 3 is the most demanding game right now. And a single 780 ti could get about 20-22 fps in 4k at max settings, which is not playable, but if you crank it down to medium and OC the card, you will get some playable frames

For that I think we will have to wait until the 20nm process arrives for AMD/Nvidia but like Costa said the GTX 780ti/GTX Titan/R9 290x is all there is that can sort of do that atm, the more VRAM the better with that though.

Not true the 780ti cannot even max out all games @ 1440p 3GB on the 780TI doesn't cut it @ 4k. The better solution for 4K is SLI or Crossfire, the 290x or 290s have more vram and wider bus width perfect for high resolutions

He was saying playable frame rates, which is true not the settings. True low is probably all it could do at 4k but still playable with say 30fps.

I do not know if I would call 20-30 fps playable framerates, I guess that depends on the type of game!
