Bent pins on my CPU

I bent the pins on the bottom of my CPU, now they wont fit into the socket. What do i do?

try to straighten them up with a small needle i fixed one like that once. use the ones lined up for support and lift the needle along side those to straighten the bent ones. with a bit of luck they are just bent and not broken...

it's a very delicate process, be patient and careful not to bend them further or break them.

Hi, The easiest way I have found to straighten bent pins is carefully using an empty mechanical pencil tip(or cheap wire wrap tool if you can find one) and be oh so gentle.

The above suggestions are great and when I encountered the same problems I was able to find the bent pins by shinning a light across it and carefully bending them straight with a needle. The important thing is take your time while doing it because you can easily over correct it by bending it far.
