Removing a heatsink

I am in the process of sort of rebuilding my computer/case.

As part of this, I would like to move from air to water cooling on my 3930k. Is it difficult to do without damaging a CPU? The heat sink rotates pretty easily so I would think it would be pretty easy to remove. If I did want to make this change would I have to removed my motherboard to take off the mounting bracket on my motherboard? What water cooler would you recommend for a 3930k in a NZXT PHANTOM case?

On a side note, does anyone have any good tut on putting LEDS in a case?

Thanks!

Pretty easy, its actually more difficult than you think to damage a CPU.
Whether you have to remove the motherboard or not to get at the backplate depends if your case has a CPU cutout. Though LGA2011 boards I believe have a built in backplate, so I dont think you will need to remove it to change the cooler.

LED's, look up something called the NZXT Hue.

Cool. I think I will be getting the Hue. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good water cooler?
