Currently I have an AMD Radeon HD 7450 (Graphics) and an AMD FX-6100 Six-core Processor. I was wondering if I could use an AMD FX-6300 CPU and a Gigabyte R9 270X GPU.

mid tower case..?
just look at your 5.25 bay (optical drive bay)..if it more than one, then it is mid tower case..

if yes, so it's absolutely will fit with your new card..

Thanks. I only have a 300w PSU but there is a 650w on the way. One of the other issues i had is the length of the video card. The card is a whole foot long and i was wondering if i would have issues installing it into my desktop.

i mean atx mid tower..

the smallest case for mini itx motherboard..it won't fit..
red in the middle, for micro atx motherboard..maybe fit..
the right one, is mid tower case, for standard atx motherboard..it will fit with your r9 270..

so, which one is your case size..? if yours is mid tower or bigger size, then nothing to worry..

I looked it up on the HP site and it says mid but looks like the larger one.
