I have my Motherboard installed in my case, and I have my GPU, CPU and RAM installed on the board. Before I install my PSU I want to test my motherboard to make sure it's not DOA(truthfully I wish I would have tested it before I even installed the mobo, but I wasn't thinking at the time)

Which cords do I need to connect with the PSU outside of the case to test it? Is the 24 pin mobo cable and the CPU cable enough to test the motherboard or should I go ahead and connect the GPU cable, SATA cables, etc.?

Solution
if your mb has onboard video....pull the gpu and then plug in the 24 and 8 pin atx power and connect the on switch to the mb header. if the mb not doa you should see the bios boot screen. have a keyboard connected go into the bios and go to the temp screen..sit there for 10 min or so with the cpu fan working look at your cpu temps and voltages. if they fine turn off the pc and then plug everything in.

Thank you for the reply. But can I just do what you said with my GPU connected?
