my current setup is this:
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E6550
GPU: EVGA GeForce GT 620 1024MB
RAM: 4x 2gb dimm 240 pin 800 mhz (its all dual channel and ddr2)
Hard Drive: 2 TB
motherboard: Hewlet Packard model 0AA8h
Case: dc7800 SFF
Power supply output: 240W MAX (its still the standard psu that was included)
Power supply part number is: 437352-001
its spare number is: 437798-001
Operating system is OEM version of Windows 7
there is also a broadcom wireless card

i am planning on replacing the cpu with a Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 Processor

do i need to upgrade my power supply?
and do i need to upgrade my heatsink/fan combo (gonna be a pain)

the psu has been confirmed by the hp support forums as proprietary but i think ive found a 350 watt psu that claims to work in my computer case
note the heatsink/fan setup for the cpu is probably also specifit to the computer though i can probably post pictures if needed

well, the thing is, yes it should fit, but then again it would not support your next upgrade, like a new gpu maybe?

if it was me, ill save up and get a new rig entirely. yes it's costly, but will be much better and upgradable. but that is just me.
sorry if i cannot answer your question directly. if this was a 500w psu then the answer is easy, but 200-300w is at the borderline really. a typical rig eats up around 300-400w, that is with a decent gpu already

if the cooler is standard (probably is), then it is up to you whether to get a better one or not.

as for the psu, i would suggest you get a good one, these branded pc's tend to give the lowest psu that they can get away with.
better yet get a new case :)

there really is only one psu that i can get due to my psu's odd shape: its]http://www.atxpowersupplies.com/350-watt-cfx-power-supply-SPI350MB-MC-SL.php]its this one or nothing[/url]

as for new case, well my motherboard probably wont transferr and if i get a new motherboard then i need to buy windows again as the oem version of windows is locked to whatever motherboard is in the computer it is first installed on, no exceptions, no ways around it(though the oem versions of windows are usually at least $100 cheaper.) as i said in first post original psu is 240 watt
