HDD Partion Issues

Hello all. I have a 1TB WD Caviar Blue HDD in my newly built gaming rig. I had striped it from a old computer and on that old computer it had the C partion which was around 150GB and the D partion which was the rest. I want to make a setup exactly like this if possible. But when i go to create the partions in the windows disk managment it only allows me to bring the C Drive to 470GB which dosent make sense, im only using about 25GB on the C partion currently, why wont it allow it to go down further? Any tips?

Because some of the stuff in the partition is near the end, and it can't move it while windows is running most likely.

Use GParted, or reinstall windows and set it up while you're selecting where to install to.

Following up on previous comment, defrag the C drive before attempting to reduce it...

Use a third party Partition Manager:
Minitool Partition Manager, EASES Partition Master, Partition Magic, Active Partition Manager, GParted, etc.
