Hi there,

Just built a new PC, MSI Z77A G41, I5 cpu. The problem is that it won't boot, not even to the BIOS menu, except after I clear the CMOS. Once it boots up, I was able to installed W7. But after I shutdown, it won't start again. I've changed a PSU, and exchanged a Mobo, but the problem remain the same: After I push the power on button, all fans run for a few second, then stop for a couple of seconds, then run again,...
When this loop starts, I can't even stop it, except turn of the PSU power switch. Once this happens, the only way I can get it to boot up is to clear the CMOS. I've even downloaded and updated the BIOS.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

HA

I did when I had my first mobo, same brand, same problem. I thought it was caused by the faulty mobo, so went back to Frys and exchanged a new one. I haven't try slot 1,3,4 for the new mobo yet. but assume it won't make any difference. I do plan to borrow a RAM from a friend to test out if the different brand ram makes any different.

BTW, after I clear the CMOS, it won't boot up immediately. The fans will start running for a few second, then stop for a few seconds, then start the real boot up. Sometimes, need a few more round before the final boot up.
