Can I get internet access thru a Smart TV ethernet port when the TV is using WiFi?

Never heard of such a thing? The Ethernet connection on the TV is to get wired internet access to the TV not to send Internet out from the TV. That is what a router is for. I have never seen a TV with a built in router. Where are you getting the wireless access to the TV from?
