I recently build my first computer and im not entirely sure whats going on here.

I am using Metro Last Lights bench-marking utility to test my FPS in game vs what reviewers such as 3DGuru are getting with there systems... The only difference here is that i am running at 1920x1080 vs 1920x1200 (meaning my results should actually be slightly better)

However here is my result from the test.

I know that this is a good score and that i should be happy with it but I really want to get to the root of the FPS dips going as low as 12... it doesnt make any sense iv seen even youtube videos of people with 780s in SLi that are getting mid 20s as the lowest point. There has to be something going on here!!

By the way the game is installed on my SSD so I dont think thats the issue...

That is pretty weird, for interest sake, disable SLI and run on one card alone. Whats the lowest FPS then?

Try another benchmark. Just want to drop off some variables.

OH MY GOD! I want to say first of all THANK YOU FOR RESPONDING THIS HAS BEEN SO FRUSTRATING! BUT I think i figured it out, was digging around online ( really am a noob when it comes to this stuff) I found out about something called CPU Parking... Well i disabled that for shits and giggles and re-ran the test. TA DA! Almost doubled the bottom frame rate... and increased the average... I THINK that this is the problem, What is your opinion?

Seems better at least. But still kind of low. I would still suggest you run unique heaven or something/.
